Tasks:
- Define short term and long term goals to bring with before this meeting. (Claiming certain benefits may have the potential to inhibit your end goal, medical especially)
- Brainstorm a list of issues you have had during your transition & may possibly have an issue with in the future.
- Bring a “LOVE ME” binder to this meeting if you have created one
Tips:
- Example for Task 1– If you are wanting to go back into the military as an officer, claiming 30% disability can wreck your chances toward selection in an officer program. This should not deter you from seeking help, if you need it, GET THE HELP YOU NEED!
- Search the veteran services available in your specific state (i.e Minnesota VA). This will lead you to more direct resources of what is available to you locally.
