Project Got Your Back

Navigator Certification

Purpose:

The purpose of a Project Got Your Back Navigator is to guide military members to the resources they need to insure a successful transition from their Military service to civilian life.

The purpose of this Navigator certification course is to properly prepare a Navigator for this role.

A Navigator and the PGYB program will help assist military members to abolish veteran suicide, significantly reduce veteran homelessness, and eliminate veteran unemployment. Who will assist with these outcomes? There are “four” primary components being deployed to achieve these highly desirable outcomes, which are at no cost to our military-connected members.

The primary components are as follows:

  1. Veterans in need, called “Clients”
  2. Trained peer-support specialists, called the “Navigators”
  3. 200 plus Minnesota-based or affiliated service providers!! (ex. The Eagle Group of Minnesota Veterans, Bunker Labs, Warriors Next Adventure, Silent Warrior Project, Minnesotans’ Military Appreciation Fund, Lutheran Social Service, Minnesota Department of Veteran’s Affairs, Every Third Saturday, Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans, Vet Centers, and the Veterans Administration)
  4. Lastly, our sponsors who are providing financial support for this program

For every military-connected individual transitioning from their years in service to the civilian world (“Client”), we are matching with a “Navigator” who is trained and equipped to make our Clients aware of resources that they likely don’t know exist.
