You have experience from the military that qualifies you for many civilian jobs, however, you are going to need to translate your career skills to civilian language. Your mentor will help you to translate your skills and direct you to resources that will be helpful for you.
Tasks:
- Print or email a copy of your resume to be reviewed during your session.
- Update your resume, editing anything the mentor may have suggested.
- Schedule your next mentoring session.
Tips:
- Look into online resources that help you translate your military skills to career skills.
- After you have “translated” your resume, have a non-military friend/family member review your resume to check if it is “civilian-proof.”
