Identifying a Mentor:
To identify a mentor you will want to find someone who:
- Can fill in gaps in your skillset
- Brings other perspectives
- You admire and respect
- Is supportive, encouraging, honest
- Is an articulate communicator
- Who is happy in their job
- Can connect you with others who would be valuable to know
Places to look for a mentor:
- Current or past workplace
- Leaders in your field or a field you aspire to be in
- Alma maters in alumni systems
- Friend or relative with experience
